With DR and his crew on the outside, and PE and DW's son on the inside, this entire job is being wrapped up just in time. Our annual big party is tomorrow, and 166 people have rsvp'd.As usual, we've been very lucky. The wood tiles arrived Tuesday, a day before the scissor lift was taken away. They are Ipe, the same wood as the arbor, and very beautiful. The rest of the week has been rainy but luckily quite warm, so DR's crew was able to keep working under a tarp. DW got to race about finding creative hardware and tease DR about some wood cutting issues.
The greenhouse frame is up, but today may be too rainy to put the glass in. Even the frame makes that corner look so much more finished. The vegetable patch is calling out for greenery!
Last weekend the clocks were set back, so now it gets dark by 5 pm. DR hooked up lights to work
last night. PE and DW's son have been working well into the evenings to finish the window wall. The new radiator is in place, looks great, and it works - DW turned the thermostat up to 80 to test it. In a final stroke of luck, PE's friend Vito supplied the insulation to pack the steel beam. DW's son had initially brought a bag of insulation, but it looked just like the 10 other bags we had put out Wednesday night with the trash!
