At JG's urging, we finally took the protective plastic off the big window this weekend. (There's something about protective plastic that both DW and I really like. It's still on our ipod, for example.) I took 20 photos and
they make a nice movie when scrolled quickly, but these 3 may give a sense of the effect. It's dramatic - now we are truly living with our neighbors. Strangely, we have not yet seen any of them. Maybe they're just peeping through their curtains. I was concerned that my cafe table might seem too 'girlie', but it has been fully adopted.

I'm impatient to hear about the garden! I didn't imagine that all the soil would arrive in bags, but how else would you get that much soil up two floors?
