Drains

Living here has certainly enforced the importance of roof drains in my mind. Our indoor bucket (next to the library, for those who have visited) filled up nicely during Hanna. And I’ll never forget the ‘home run’ flood last year, when real cascades flowed into the exotic bathroom as a result of a baseball that the kids on the street behind us had remarkably landed directly into our unprotected uppermost drain. So it was a big deal that the drain holes were installed on Monday/Tuesday.

Those drains will come in handy when Babu starts powerwashing the former elevator shaft (a.k.a. outer walls of the exotic bathroom). He set up his scaffolding in advance, so he won’t have to walk on the wet cement later in the week.
